[attr="class","arrgenMAINTEXT"]If you need something done, and done right... Maple is your go to molly. She's reliable, she tends to get things done, and while she can delegate when and where needed, she seems to have no trouble getting down and dirty if she has to. She tends to be one of those cats that likes things done, and done properly; she will invest all the time and effort necessary for it.
Amusingly enough, despite her rather no nonsense nature and rather lawful disposition, Maple tends to see situations from both sides. She does not often judge cats unfairly, even if she can be harsh, and can usually find ways to emphatically put herself into other cat's situations. This makes her an efficient problem solver, though it also makes her a bit of a busy body... she wants to know if you're okay, what's going on with your life and what ails you. She wants to help, whether it's wanted or not, believe it or not.
Despite her rather harsh, near brash disposition and her no nonsense attitude towards others, Maple is a deeply nurturing person. She rarely gets to display this attribute outside her family and close allies or friends, but it is there, and can be seen if one looks hard enough. She worries about others, and though her usual outlet for her worries seems to be anger... it is anger borne of worry. She's a tiny little molly, true, but don't think she won't plant herself between you and danger is given half a chance, and don't think she's above coddling you if she gets half a chance to. Have you eaten dinner at all today? Does she have to go GET it for you? She'll force feed you, don't test her!
Maple can not abide stupidity or general rudeness. It is her biggest pet peeve, and it's the easiest, sure fire way of pissing her off beyond all measure. Don't think that just because she's tiny she's not a force to be reckoned with. Granted, this is not to say she doesn't have a sense of humor, because she does. It's just... a strange sort of humor.
And here you thought your mother was overprotective or overbearing, pffft. You know nothing. Maple can put even the the most well meaning of mothers to shame, and she tends to loom over anyone she has decided to adopt (A feat, given her relatively small stature). Have you made sure to eat correctly? Did make sure you groomed well? Are you SURE? I sure damn well hope you are clean behind those ears, young man, or I swear to god! What do you mean you're going to swim? You have to wait three hours for digestion to take place; I will sit on you and make you wait! Don't you tempt me!
Do not try to get into a verbal fight with Maple. If she has it in her head that she is right, lord help you, because you are not going to change her mind. She is going to do the mental equivalent of digging her heels in, crossing her arms and refusing to move; she knows best, damn it! Despite this however, she does listen to logic and reason... but facts are needed, and you will have to show her, rather than tell her, because damn it, she is RIGHT!
Maple is a 'do' kind of cat, and very rarely deals well with long waiting periods, planning or generally simply sitting down with nothing to do. She's impatient and tends to want results; she expects results. She doesn't do well when there is nothing for her to physically do to fix a problem, and playing the waiting game for things to happen is simply not her forte. If someone goes missing, you can bet she's not going to be the one sitting back in case they come back; she's going to be front line of the search party.

[attr="class","arrgenMAINTEXT"]Maple's mother died while she and her sister were still nursing. Though her father, an older tom, still looked out for them, they had to be given to another nursing queen within the clan, and though she was still quite young, something about the fact that this molly was not HER specific mother seemed to stick with her. After all, she developed an overbearing need to nurture and mother her sister from a rather young age despite the fact the nursing molly was quite sweet on them.
She was not her blood though. Mother had died. Mother was gone. She would protect those around her if it cost her life.
Despite the impression it left upon her, this wasn't to say Maple was particularly traumatized or otherwise hurt by the experience; she was, at the end of the day, too young to remember her mother by blood. It was more the notion of the thing that left her a bit touched. The suddenness that someone could leave, die, pass away without a trace that made her into a bit of a worry wart. A notion reinforced when only just barely finished nursing, her sister succumbed to death. It was hardly the nursing molly's fault that Maple's sister was not strong enough to survive the ordeal, her body weak, a smaller runt than even Maple's small physique.
Despite this, Maplekit did not break. Nature was nature sometimes, and she would henceforth endeavor to keep her close one safe.
Throughout kit-hood, she tried to play conscience for her friends, Adderkit and Viperkit, with only moderate success. She could not be there always, and often times, by the time she noticed what was going on between the half snake brother and Ash-kit, it was too little too late. She never really thought twice about it; kits being kits, and boys being boys, clearly, and though she did not condone the bullying, wasn't entirely aware the depths to which it ran.
It was during their apprenticeship that the situation finally imploded, with the sudden death of Adderpaw, as he fell out of a tree. Though Maple was not there to witness the event, she was there for the fallout, mourning her friend like she would have a family member, for she had latched upon the snake siblings as if brothers. The departure of one of them inevitably drove a wedge between the two remaining friends; not because they didn't care for one another anymore, but because the sudden lack of third party was so noticeable. Even despite the grief and distinct sense of 'otherness' due to Adderpaw's absence, Maplepaw tried to reach out to Viperpaw.
A fruitless endeavor, for her friend only grew jumpier, more skittish and unwilling to remain by her side.
Maple eventually finished her apprenticeship, and though she misses her friend dearly, she's waiting for the right time to reach out to him.
