while strong and rough around the edges darkstar is a very approachable cat when it comes to his own clan. he is very passionate and works very hard to show that to both his clan and his enemies. he loves his clan to the point where he would lose his life if he knew that it would protect and defend them. or he would keep his life if he knew that would protect his clan longer. however, on the opposite side, darkstar is very bitter towards the other clans.

darkstar is brutally honest. he doesn't have the need to lie, you see. especially to other clans. of course, he's very strategic about what he says. but that's not going to stop him from pointing out the truth to other cat's faces. he's really good at challenging authority and he's prone to playing the devil's advocate. he's able to pull out some pretty convincing arguments. his talents are not in words, though he can pull off an inspirational war speech or two.

strong of will and strength of mind darkstar does not change his mind or his values very easily. only if he has to face the facts does he give thought to something other than what he believes. he is also very observant and he feels confident in his own deductive abilities even if he's wrong. so when he IS wrong he has a hard time admitting it.

darkstar hates to be just sitting in his den waiting to be called upon. actually he's often on patrol or helping within the camp, being a part of the community, partly because he wants to be there for his clan in the most personal way possible, and partly because he just has a hard time sitting still. he's an active leader who doesn't take kindly to laziness. although, it's quite apparent, he puts a lot more expectations on himself than he does the rest of his clan. as leader he is protector. as leader he is defender. he understands that not everyone is like him nor does anyone else in windclan have the job that he's been given by starclan. their responsibilities are different from his own.

WARRIOR CODE;;
while he'd like to think that he'd follow the warrior code to the letter, the reality is that he would probably fail that test. not because he's maliciously broken the code on purpose, but because he tends to lean toward his own beliefs and understandings than he would on the warrior code. if he believes something is right for his clan but it goes against the warrior code, then he's going to do that thing that he believes is right.

but that doesn't mean he's against the warrior code, in fact, he respects the code that the stars had laid out for them on a deep level. he doesn't condone the breaking of that code. he would punish any cat that breaks the warrior code under his watch. of course, the degree to which it is broken is taken into consideration, but darkstar would like to believe that he's a fair leader in this sense.

one thing that darkstar won't tolerate is cross clan romance. it's considered the epitome of breaking clan loyalty. and clan loyalty and protection is of the highest traits a windclan warrior can have, in his own opinion.

STARCLAN;;
starclan holds many of his loved ones and cats that he deeply respects, like his father. he would like to think that he would follow them wherever they take him, but this again isn't always the case. he has his own opinions and his own thoughts and he trusts his own judgment more than he trusts that of others. but this doesn't mean that he won't take starclan's will into consideration. he is simply an independent thinker.

although the opinion of his medicine cat is even more important to him than even starclan. because the role of the medicine cat is even more about protecting and defending the clan than even the leader role, in his own opinion of course.

GREATEST FEAR;;
protect and defend are darkstar's deepest rooted traits, ones that his father instilled into him as if they were the only traits that defined him. to lose any cat in his clan is a devastating blow to him. he's learned how to grieve in a healthy way with the support of those around him, but to lose his sister would probably send him into a spiral. he's a fairly brave tom and faces many of his fears head-on, but to lose his sister would be the ultimate loss for him.

✖ born along with 2 other kits to a surrogate mother. 2 younger siblings, cloudkit (sister) and cypresskit (brother). lichenleaf took care of and suckled them but frostfire and alderstone began to raise them when they were weaned.

✖ frostfire was a strict firecracker. loved his kits to death but was strong and firm when he needed to be. had more expectations on dark-kit to be the elder brother and take care of his siblings.

✖ alderstone is a calmer, much more empathetic father. loved his kits to death and treated them gently and without expectations. would try to get frostfire to ease up on dark-kit some.

✖ grew up believing that it was his job to protect and defend his younger siblings. so he would stand up for them no matter what the situation. cypresskit didn't like it and would often reject his help. cloudkit didn't mind.

✖ cypresskit and dark-kit grow apart even though dark-kit tries to make up several times. but he can't give up his brotherly duty to protect.


✖ as apprentices, frostfire watches darkpaw, cypresspaw, and cloudpaw's progress when he can. mentoring darkpaw whenever they both had time.

✖ but as darkpaw's real mentor appleleaf did not like frostfire monopolizing darkpaw's time. so she complained to the current leader and he was given a warning. after that frostfire lets up on his mentoring, taking him out during father/son hang out sessions.

✖ appleleaf is a kind and gentle senior warrior with a firm grasp on fighting.

✖ cypresspaw stops hanging out with darkpaw and cloudpaw completely. dark and cloud become very close as siblings.

✖ darkpaw's first crush was an older she-cat that went by the name cinderpaw. darkpaw did all he could to impress her. but she outright rejected him every time. she was strong, confident, and firm. she didn't consider him because he was too young and she liked someone else.

✖ cinderpaw tells darkpaw that she loves someone else and that he's too young for her. darkpaw gets angry and sulks for a few days, his sister and mentor's support helps him get over cinderpaw.

✖ appleleaf is taken by greencough and darkpaw is devastated. with the support of his sister and his fathers, he is able to grieve healthily and continue his training with goldencloud as his mentor. another she-cat, this time with a firm strong-willed personality and a great nack for fighting.

✖ the rest of his apprenticeship was peaceful enough. he passes his assessment with flying colors and then darkpaw and his siblings get their warrior names. He becomes darkfire for his fighting prowess, passion for protecting the clan.


✖ darkfire gets his first apprentice. a little firey she-cat called yarrowpaw. she may have been little but she made up for it with her speed and agility. contrary to her name her personality was feisty and she just couldn't sit still. as a mentor darkfire was firm but gentle. he loved her and attempted to redirect her energy into protecting her clan. they were close as mentor and apprentice.

✖ the three siblings are crushed to find that frostfire died from a border battle with shadowclan. the death wasn't intentional but the wounds he sustained were deep and there was nothing the medicine cat could do for him.


✖ lichenleaf is found dead in the nursery, having died in her sleep overnight, taking frostfire and alderstone's new kits with her.


✖ yarrowpaw gets her warrior name.

✖ the deputy loses his mate to an illness. he steps down as deputy and eaglestrike is named in his place. this is when darkfire begins to think. maybe he could be deputy one day. so he works hard as a warrior. taking extra duties like border patrols, hunting patrols, and working in the camp when needed.

✖ eaglestrike watches him from afar and sees him tire himself out. he then goes to speak to him. "being a deputy is far more than being a good warrior. it's about loving your clan to the fullest."

✖ eaglestrike begins to spend more time with darkfire. as if he were showing the younger warrior the ropes of being a leader.


✖ current leader dies but even as they're grieving he is named as the eaglestrike's new deputy. darkfire is both shocked and humbled at the opportunity despite his personality. however, eaglestrike is sick from greencough and cannot make it to the moonstone in order to become leader. so he relinquishes his opportunity as leader and soon dies from the sickness. darkfire makes his way to the moonstone to become darkstar and he's been a strong leader for 8 moons now.
