[attr="class","arrgenMAINTEXT"]Cold and calculated, her Clan comes before all else. To many, especially to cats outside of RiverClan, she becomes off as icy and detached. Not much draws a reaction from her as she prefers not to disclose emotional responses to those who may use them against her.

The fact of the matter is, however, that she cares deeply for RiverClan and all cats under her care. They are seen as her first priority and responsibility, and there are moments (such as kits becoming apprentices, apprentices becoming warriors, queens having kits, warriors retiring, and cats dying) where genuine emotional responses shine through for Rosestar. Outside of these occurrences, she tends to keep a tight lid on her emotions, including the expressions she makes.

At times, she doles out harsh punishments. She wants cats to learn their lesson the first time and to not have to repeat the same mistakes. Repeat offenders face even greater disciplinary action. She has been known to make examples of cats. Rosestar is determined that RiverClan be seen as the best and most well-rounded Clan; therefore, cats who put this in jeopardy are swiftly penalized.

She was a heavy-pawed deputy, and that has carried into her leadership. Rosestar expects the best of all of her cats, and that starts in kithood. She visits the nursery often to check in on the queens and their kits, searching for the strengths and weaknesses in cats at an early age.

Rosestar believes strongly in identifying the features in a cat as young as possible to work on and improve them. She insists on actively participating in her apprentices' training and even runs drills with her warriors. Preferring not to be a leader who merely makes the decisions and guides her Clan diplomatically, she takes an active role in all aspects of Clan life.

[attr="class","arrgenMAINTEXT"]She was born to parents Fawnsong and Otterleap as Rosekit alongside littermates Thistlekit and -kit.  Even as a child, Rosekit was an extremely serious individual.  Her presence often unnerved cats that expected a more playful kitten.  She intensely watched the interactions among her Clanmates, particularly those of the leader, deputy, and senior warriors.  Of her littermates, she'd request mock play-fights where she'd come up with intricate battle plans.  Her mother and father were known to (gently) reprimand her at times and insist that she take it easy while still in the nursery.

Condortalon was her mentor.  She was a brusque and strong warrior.  Rosepaw idolized her; however, Condortalon's mentorship would only last two moons.  Condortalon was killed in a border skirmish with ThunderClan.  Rosepaw was present, and that moment caused a definitive shift in her outlook on Clan politics and relationships.  Fogwhisker took over the rest of Rosepaw's training, but their bond as warrior and apprentice never quite lived up to Rosepaw's prior partnership.  

She was named Rosefeather at 12 moons for her elegance on and off the battlefield.  Rosefeather was light on her paws and quick to strategize.  The name always felt unsuitable, but she accepted it nonetheless.  From the time she was an apprentice, she completely devoted herself to her Clan and its leadership.  She obeyed every order without hesitation, particularly when it came time to bring the battle to ThunderClan's shores.

00 moons: Born under Whitestar's leadership with Brownbear as deputy.
04 moons: Brownbear (deputy) is killed and Whitestar loses two lives. Falconfeather is made deputy.
06 moons: Rosekit is named Rosepaw and given to Condortalon to mentor. Willowmask (medicine cat apprentice) is swept away in the river's current, presumed dead; Whitestar loses a life trying to save her.
08 moons: Condortalon is killed in a border skirmish with ThunderClan. Rosepaw is (unhappily) given to Fogwhisker to train.
12 moons: Rosepaw is named Rosefeather, alongside her littermates who are named Thistletail and ---.
16 moons: Whitecough spreads throughout the RiverClan camp. Rosefeather manages to evade the illness this time. Fawnsong has a close call.
21 moons: Falconfeather (deputy) resigns as deputy due to injury. Silvermist becomes deputy.
24 moons: Rosefeather is given her first apprentice, ---. Whitestar is carried off by a hawk trying to save a kit. Silvermist is unable to get her nine lives, leaving RiverClan without a true leader for several seasons.
30 moons: Rosefeather's first apprentice, ---, receives their warrior name, ---. Silvermist is the acting leader of RiverClan. Rosefeather begins to really start to make a point to 'prove' herself as 'deputy material,' having successfully mentored another cat.
34 moons: Rosefeather is given her second apprentice, ---.
35 moons: After the death of Silvermist, Redclaw becomes the acting leader. However, at this time, Whitestar miraculously returns and resumes leadership with Redclaw as his deputy. Rosefeather still has her sights set on becoming deputy.
39 moons: Redclaw retires as deputy due to old age. Whitestar suffers a heart attack and dies before selecting a new deputy. When the Clan is left to choose on their own, Rosefeather steps forward and makes her pitch. The Clan selects her to ascend past deputyship to leadership. Leaftail is chosen as her deputy.
40 moons: Rosefeather's second apprentice, ---, receives their warrior name, ---.
44 moons: Sagewhisker breaks the Warrior Code by having kits as a medicine cat. Rosestar is furious and strips him of his status. He is forced to do apprentice tasks, warrior duties, and also train a new apprentice as a medicine cat.
