Sageflower was sharing tongues with a clanmate by the warrior den when he noticed Sorrelblossom slip into camp, a clump of leaves nestled safely between her jaws. He hadn't really seen much of the medicine cat today, but he could imagine that she was busy gathering herbs to last them through the colder seasons. Sageflower could understand; he'd been spending most of the day outside camp, too, attempting to feed his clanmates before prey became too scarce. He'd only allowed himself to relax when he was satisfied with the growth of the fresh-kill pile. There was enough now, but in a moon or two, he would be forfeiting his own meals so his clanmates could eat.

He excused himself from his clanmate's company and moved in Sorrelblossom's direction. "Hey, Sorrelblossom!" Sageflower picked up the pace and was at the medicine cat's side in just a few lengthy strides. He had to tilt his head down to look at the small feline. "Would you like to share some fresh-kill? I'll let you choose," he purred.

All his life, Sageflower had been an anxious cat, to the point where he experienced physical symptoms. He visited the medicine cat a lot, mostly with stomachaches and chest pain and difficulty breathing. He knew he was freaking himself out so badly that his body was reacting, but he couldn't help it. Turtlecall had eased many of his worries, reassuring him that his ailments were not actually physical and he would live to see another day. Sageflower was positive he'd get to know Sorrelblossom very well. After all, not only would she be the cat he went to instead of Turtlecall now, but also someone he should be able to comfortably consult as deputy.

Sageflower was a natural caretaker. He spent a lot of his time in the nursery, looking after kits while their mothers sneaked in a nap. He was the responsible brother, the one who cleaned up after his littermate and kept him out of danger. He became a dependable paternal figure to his former apprentice. But even he needed to be taken care of sometimes. There was a lot of weight on Sorrelblossom's shoulders that Sageflower wished he could relieve her of, but he couldn't fight her battles for her. That much he knew. He could, however, offer her his friendship, his support.
